BSNL Landline Installation Charges

When a customer gets his first bill, it includes the Landline Installation charge of ₹500 – ₹750 as a one time charge. Even if you take a new broadband connection, it includes this Landline Installation charge by default. It is levied on the customer to recover Overhead wire or cable costs.

BSNL Broadband Installation Charges

BSNL Broadband offers ADSL ( Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) broadband at various price points or ranges. Plans start from as low as ₹99 per month. Broadband Installation charge of Rs. 500 is collected from the customer in his first month bill as a one time charge for programming the ADSL Modem / ADSL Wifi Modem. Customer may configure his own modem to avoid this ₹250 charge. For, combo plan customers, the rate is reduced from ₹750 to ₹500.

BSNL Broadband Modem Charges

ADSL Broadband Modem is charged at ₹1250 as a one time purchase. Instead, the customer may opt for Rented Wifi Modem at ₹110 per month. A Non-Wifi Modem may be taken for rent at ₹70 per month.

Replace Faulty BSNL Modem

If your modem becomes faulty, it will be replaced free of cost only if it is taken on Rent basis. Just inform BSNL office near to you. They will give a good working modem in place of your faulty modem. If your modem is a purchased modem, replacement is not possible after a warranty period of 1 year or so.

BSNL FTTH Installation Charges

BSNL FTTH is also like a traditional Broadband connection. But the connection is given on Optical Fiber. A special ONT Modem (Optical Network Terminator Modem) is required to access the internet or broadband. This modem is a bit costly. BSNL charges the same amount of ₹500 as a one-time charge. It will be added to your first-month bill. Even if the customer brings his own ONT or purchases from BSNL, he has to pay a flat installation charge of ₹500 as of March 2021.

BSNL FTTH Modem Charges

It is suggested to take ONT Modem on a rent basis as the modem is costly as of now. It may be available at less price or cheap rate in 1 or 2 years.

ONT Type A has only One Ethernet Port and can be configured in Bridge Mode only. Bridge mode does not allow dynamic IP or DHCP. So you can connect to more than one PC. Wifi is not at all possible by any means.

ONT Type B has 4 ports with built-in DHCP or dynamic IP. You can extend the internet by using Netgear or DLink routers.

The BSNL customer services are not satisfactory.I wanted to know what is the fibre cable cost per meter after installation of FTTH.2. when I asked if the existing landline phone can be used for FTTH for making calls they do not know. No proper answare . Further, the broad band calbe is a waste one after taking FTTH connection for which 1150 rupees charged in first bill. There are so many doubts for instllation of BSNL FTTH which are also not available in google internet … That is that

BSNL FTTH plans come as Combo Plans with both Voice and Data. Unlimited calls and Data is common now a days. You may need to buy a Telephone Instrument to make voice calls. Your FTTH modem will be having a voice or landline voice port (RJ-11). When you apply for a FTTH connection, their staff check for fesibility to your area. If they get more number of connections in that area, they do not ask you to buy a fibre of say 100 mtr or 200mtr from your side. If you are the only far away customer, you may need to buy fibre on your own or give commitment for 1-2 years to get free fibre. BSNL FTTH is the mostly widely accepted high speed broadband in many government offices and business complexes.

Landline Number levels are different from FTTH (Optical Fiber) number levels. You may not retain. But you can opt for BSNL-ASEEM plan which costs only 200/- per year. It allows you to call-forward all calls from the Old landline to one mobile number of your choice. This way you can still hold the OLD number.

The facility was just launched. It takes some time to configure servers nationwide to accept such requests/orders from customers.

If it is marked as a Security Deposit, you wil get it back. If it is shown as an Installation charge, check your 1st month bill for missing installation charge. System raises it only once.

I applied for a FTTH connection and gave an application. I was asked to pay Rs.777. I paid it in BSNL customer care. I was asked to contact one contractor. I informed the contractor that I paid Rs.777 for FTTH connection. The contractor provided the connection and asked to give Rs.3500 towards cabling and modem. I paid and asked for bill. Contractor said he cannot give the bill and I have to pay GST extra if I need a bill. I told OK. But no bill was given. When I pressed for bill, I was asked to pay Rs.630 extra in addition to Rs.3500 already paid. When I gave a look on the bill book I could see bill prepared for the total amount of Rs.3500, with Rs 2966 for modem charge and cabling and 9% GST for central and 9% GST for the state government. The total amount of the bill works out to Rs.3500. But I was asked to give Rs.4130 (3500 +9% CGST+9%SGST). what is the real amount to be pais? will any BSNL authority clear this doubt?
